PawAirHome covers air purifiers for homes with pets: cats, dogs, birds, and the small rooms where a litter box or a cage sits. It is written and maintained by an editorial team, not by a single reviewer with a personal testing history.
What we actually do
We do not run a lab, we do not own test units, and no page here claims hands-on measurement. What we do is work from documents anyone can check:
- Manufacturer specifications. CADR in CFM, filter type and stages, decibel ratings by fan speed, replacement filter part numbers and intervals, taken from the maker's own published material.
- Independent registries. Every model is looked up in AHAM Verifide, which tests CADR, and in the California Air Resources Board list of certified devices, which covers ozone. Results for all models are on the registry check page, with the date of each check.
- Cost arithmetic. Filter prices and replacement intervals turned into a yearly figure, on thetrue filter cost page, so the cheap unit with expensive filters stops looking cheap.
- Room math. The CADR a room actually needs, rather than the "recommended room size" on the box.
Where a number comes from the maker and we could not confirm it in a registry, the page says so instead of repeating it as fact.
